Structure and Function

Body function is the foundation of health. Without proper function nothing works right. Function depends on proper structure (spinal alignment) and nutrition, and healthy thought processes. These can be addressed in many ways using one or a combination of therapies including chiropractic, acupuncture, naturopathy, exercise, massage therapy, homeopathy, psychological counseling, iridology, live cell therapy, electrodermal testing (EDT), to name some of the therapies and diagnostic tools used in the healing process.
Regardless of the treatment protocol, certain facts remain immutable and unchanging. Body function depends on nerve flow. Nerve flow depends on spinal alignment. Alignment and a stable structure depend on properly functioning muscles and ligaments. Strong muscles and ligaments depend on the assimilation of nutrients. To assimilate nutrients and eliminate waste, nerve supply to the digestive tract via spinal alignment is necessary. We've just come full circle.
There is a direct relationship between each vertebra and specific glands, organs and parts of the body. Misalignment of vertebra affects normal nerve flow to the various parts and reduces function of that part.
When one understands the relationship of the vertebra to glands and organs, he or she can begin to understand the cause of problems - physical, mental or emotional.
These laws of nature are described in my book, "Heal Yourself: Mind Body Spirit." For basic concise and easy to understand information on how your body works, read the book. Topics include the muscle and skeletal systems; how they affect the nervous system; the nervous, digestive, eliminative and immune systems and how they affect each other; the mind-body-emotion connections; how structure and nutrition affect and are affected by emotions; a variety of common conditions, including men's, women's and children's issues, their causes and natural treatment programs.
